It was a cold February day in 1955 when the iconic Chanel 2.55 bag was born. A bag that was initially meant to be practical for women because it was the first to actually have straps. Leave it to Coco to turn fashion into function, one of the reasons she is so well known. But there's a reason why starlettes & most fashion bloggers (most definitely including your's truly) still covet the quilted master piece (quilts inspired by jockeys, Coco used to hang around the race tracks in her 20s). It's simple, medium sized, comes in an array of fun or classic colors, and is truly an epitome of style. The bag may break the bank, but will last a lifetime both in quality & style, which is a rare feat.

I suppose my love for it arose with my love for all things Chanel, but I can probably officially trace back my coveting of the purse to good old always inspirational Kirsten Dunst. There is no other actress (other than Mischa Barton, but considering she's talentless the word, "actress", doesn't even apply here haha)who rocks the bag as much as she does- in black, in purple, in red, on the red carpet, on the street, Kiki makes the Chanel bag a fluid obvious wardrobe staple. Thus the Chanel bag is a fashion goal of mine, what about you?

But many other chic celebs are wearing the Chanel 2.55 bag as just another weapon in their stylish arsenal

And even our very own Silje has one, lucky girl!

i must say though, as far as designer bags go, i think i want a balenciaga ... one day!
i swear to God the minute i can afford one, i'm buying a chanel 2.55. it's something i can pass on to my daughter; i see it as a wise investment as it matches just everything. the only question is, what color? =)
I'm not really a bag person, but I do love that bag. I think Kirsten Dunst wears hers nicely
i absolutely adore kirsten dunst & that bag.
Oh gosh I'm so in love with this bag.I want one so bad :(
Your blog is simply cool.Do you want to exchange links?
love the chanel bag in purple!
I really will have to start saving instead of assuming I'll be rich and famous one day
as for my iconic fashion things I'd go with the Hermes Kelly bag (http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/10_01/gracekelly0710_468x390.jpg)
or just any Hermes scarf
It's rather wild how classic and iconic this bag is. I like it, but it makes me wonderful, why do we like it so much...?
Oh and I think summer is an excellent time to start blogging. You get really into the swing of things before school/work slams you in the face! I even mentioned summer being a good time to start in my first post--still agree.
I love the 2.55 bag, but only on certain people. It can get a little overrated to me, because tons of girls at my school buy knockoffs and claim they're the real thing. People like that ruin Chanel for me. Kirsten Dunst has indeed mastered how to wear the 2.55, she makes it look understated and casual even though it's worth a fortune.
That pic of KiKi wearing mustard tights and the red Chanel is like my ALL time fav inspiration picture!!! No doubt, it's on my desktop.
